I don't know about rollback.
Personally I'm using GOG.com version outside steam client.

Since You've already supported this game, go on and download older version from another "source". You won't became pirate in this case.

Here are links to gog.com DRM-free version 1.3.7+Pirates of the Flying Fortress (aka Epic Edition) which is fully compatible with Worldmerge 1.4a.

unpack with 7zip

I did try to unpack with 7zip. I get:
1 Data error : Two Worlds II Epic Edition - GOG\setup_two_worlds2_2.0.0.8-1.bin
Every time.

I just went ♥♥♥♥ it and bought it again on gog. Worldmerge does work on that version. I wish Steam had a rollback system.
