How do nuclear structures work?
I understand that they produce double the resources but for some of the structures that doesn't make sense, do nuclear ballistas and mining rods shoot twice as fast? Do nuclear power plants provide double the production speed bonus?

Also, do they all have to be powered by nuclear fuel cells to work at all or does simply upgrading them do anything?

Nuclear structures have to be powered with cells to function.
Production structures produce 2x as many items in a craft.
Mining rods and ballistae do more damage
Power plants I'm not sure of

Power plants act like a back-up battery meaning they refuel anything within their radius with the cells you put in them so you don't have to go to each station.

Ugh, that's dumb, by the time you have a reliable source of toxic sludge you've already crafted mostly everything, hell, you could just double up on furnaces and factories and get the same effect and you wouldn't have to worry about your structures running out of power.

I guess it depends on
is it worth it to double up after your stuff starts costing 100mil materials each with half off
or just start mass producing fuel cells?

I don't even think that matters, The only think I can imagine being worth it are the nuclear mining rods just to keep islands clear so you can walk around easier, You can't make spirit forges or sigil makers nuclear so farming legendary gems is left to the grinding in the void, you could have all the doubled amounts of electronics and royal steel you want but you're still limited by Star Fragments and legendary gems, and even if you could make spirit forges nuclear it's only going to help you for the final 2 tiers of tools to craft, after that the game is pretty much over unless you want to grind spirit orbs for damage.

It's really only the gems that limit you. I found that combining star scrolls and lighthouses got me about 50k stars in like 10 mins.
