A recent issue we've come across tied to FPS drops seems to have been sorted by the recent Windows update, have you tried that?

I upgraded my Windows 10 but, unfortunately, the problem persists. I have sudden drops in FPS. My computer is very powerful and I don't understand why this problem happens. I hope it is fixed because I love this game. Thank you very much for the feedback.

check temps, maybe run a resource monitor to see what is/isnt being utilized and how much.

only way i got my FPS to drop down is the sheer amount of animals i put on a single lure. and im on a 7700k i7 @4.5ghz and a 2080ti. it took that to bring the game itself down to only doing 42 fps rather than 60.

I'm also having FPS drops and I have a high-end pc too. It kinda ruins the game since the whole thing is about grinding with good feedback. Have you solved the issue at all?

I used to be able to run at constant 60 fps (I last played last year). Came back to check out the new stuff and can't run above 40 fps now.

Same here - I originally thought it was due to the Evolved Mod pack, but even standard is lagging hardcore. I have a high end PC and didn't have issues last year when I played quite a bit. So at a loss and bit disappointed (it also only started once I hit level 20 and had more machine). I turned off all animations/weather, but no help to FPS.

I'm always at 30fps but whenever I go into the museum then I'm back up to 60fps

I can only second the fps issues as well. Played the game a while back, and it ran smooth as butter at a steady 60 fps. Now after returning with a fresh reinstall the game feels really choppy, while averaging around 37 fps, no matter if i activate or deactivate all of the graphics settins and zoom or not.
I'm not claiming to have the end-all be-all high end computer, but i can still run games that seem much more graphics intensive at a very constant 100+ fps at all times with all setting maxed, so i doubt it's that. Also the previously mentioned steady 60 fps were played on the same machine, just a couple months back. Window is fully up to date as well.

its because of wavy animations of beets flowers and the such piling up causing lag just destroy them and you will gt better fps

That theory doesn't add up when animations and such have been turned off completely, yet fps still drops.

Currently getting FPS drops down to 30 or 40 and I am not even at the mid game yet. I used to get a solid 60 way into the late game.

EDIT:

I am not running a mega powerful rig, but I am still only seeing 30% CPU load and 50% RAM load when the game drops to 30 FPS.

When I move away from my core island the FPS increases back to 60 with no issues. Only structures that I currently have working all the time are 3 banks. As soon as I move away from them the FPS goes back to normal.

I'm having the same problem only getting 34-40 fps even on a new save and with most settings disabled. Still waiting on a fix...

It's been 10 months and this is still a major problem. Nobody has a solution?

You'll have to set your monitor to 60 fps in nvidea control panel, which sucks, but that's the workaround. no fix yet that i know of.

I figured it out! It took about an hour to change each setting one by one in the NVIDIA control panel to find the right settings that worked, but I got it!

For anyone using an NVIDIA graphics card, do the following:

Make sure your monitor refresh rate is configured correctly in the Windows Display Settings. For me, it was set to 143.998 Hz because I have a 144 Hz G-SYNC Monitor.

Next, open the NVIDIA control panel and go to 3D Settings->Manage 3D Settings

Select the Program Settings tab on the right and find Forager in the dropdown (add it if you don't see it).

Select the following options:

Max Frame Rate: On->60 FPS
Monitor Technology: Fixed Refresh
Preferred refresh rate (Your Monitor Name Is Here): Application-controlled
Vertical Sync: Use the 3D application setting

Then, when inside Forager, turn V-sync OFF in the game settings.

I hope this helps anyone who was as frustrated by this as me!
