hopefully if it will be reached, there will be option to play via lan or direct IP, not just steam friends (so itch (and where else it will sell) users will be able to enjoy it as much, as steam users)

When he says online, I hope he means multiplayer where the player has the option to either host a multuplayer game via client or if they want people to join while their not playing, a dedicated server program the user can run themselves. To have a corporate online server where the rules cant be changed, or worse, one you had to log in and buy items for real money with npcs spamming all over the game would definitely ruin it for me. It would be another realm of the mad god, and your game looks to be much better promise then that annoyance!
