Ok, I've played through a complete second time now, with the only achievement remaining not unlocked being Come Home Shorn, getting a game over while attempting to save Lance a good handful of times now.

My only puzzling state in calling this a bug was what bahamutprincess and oxencat wrote, where apparently they got Come Home Shorn apparently by doing what I did to get Sacrificed Detective?

While this was discussed earlier in the thread, I would just like confirmation on whether or not this is a bug or just me being incredibly dense. That lot got me confused.

I'm struggling to pin point where your issue is lying to be honest. But seeing as the stats are showing that people are unlocking the achievement okay, I would recommend verifying your steam files, and trying again. Perhaps you are doing something different?

I verified my files at the start of the discussion and tried to trigger the achievement multiple times.

Perhaps a good start would be clarifying the requirements... as in, am I trying to trigger it in the right area in the first place?

stupid question but did you try to trigger the achievement by doing what you did for the sacrificed detective achievement during the minutes you're given to save lance? maybe try to kill keith in another manner, shot by the toy for exemple.

I'll try the statue thing, but seeing as how the achievement is described as getting a game over saving Lance, that would have to be a huge bug. It won't even let me head there with Lance.

"Come Home Shorn" is not popping up for me either. I tried dying on the room with the spikes when Lance is with me and the achievement did not pop up either. I also thought of trying to die by the statues while the countdown is going on, but I can't remember if I tried it. I shall and will report what happens.

EDITED: Going to the statues and dying while the countdown is going on did net me the achievement! I guess that's how it was intended then. Thank you everyone for the help.

Ahh... statues WITH the countdown going... that's a very important detail that makes more sense out of the trigger linking with the achievement description. It's definitely not as common sense as simply failing the rescue. I think that was the last bit of info I needed!

EDITED: Ok! Fully confirmed now, at 100%! The missing piece of the puzzle was not to simply get game over when saving Lance... it is to die yourself, presumably through the statue area, when attempting to save Lance. Come Home, Shorn wasn't very obvious, but this detail was what I needed! I thought for sure it was bugged otherwise. Thank you very much!

It seems that Rescue Mission 4 hasn't unlocked for me, and I have finished the game.
Does anyone have a save before that point in the game so that I can try again? It seems like I overwrote those I had...

Hi! Rescue Mission 4 hasn't unlocked for me either. I noticed I didn't get it after I played through the whole game and got the good ending in my first playthrough. I overwrote my save, so I started a new game (about an hour ago), and played up until I rescued Shirely . I didn't save at all when going through it this tinme around, and I also ignored the Happy Ending flags and skipped all scenes [bold] except for [/bold] the scene right after I saved Shirely and we're in the safe room talking with the others .

I have right after my first playthrough last week, and then right after this second attempt to unlock Rescue Mission 4. My PC specs is: HP Omen Laptop 17 , Intel Core i7-7700HQ , CPU @ 2.8GHz, Windows 10 64 bit , NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

I know it's been over a month since someone last posted on this, but thought I'd give it a shot lol. Just thought it was weird that this is the only one I've had trouble with unlocking and there doesn't seem to be a reason why it isn't.

Hi, it does unlock, however, you probably are missing something or didn't do something in a certain way.

Near the very end of the game, when you are in the room with the painting and open up the painting to get to the hallway with the bible puzzle and the mary statue room, if you exit out and interact with the painting again, the prompt will be in japanese, not English.
