Your fave nuke.
On my first playthrough of this superb title and have not long been on Act 2. I've been playing both titles on Hard, saving Nightmare for a NG+ run of each game.

Just interested in everyones favorite Quartz based nuke. I go for AOE spells myself, and have yet to find a Cross Crusade in this title, but that was my fave from ToCS1.

What is your favorite general purpose nuke? Do you have a couple? I appreciate that mobs will have elemental strengths and weaknesses, but I'm sure you guys have your preferred spell/s.

Claiomh Solarion, because it's a more imaginative spell than simply a generic fire ball/tornado/earthquake/torrent of water spell. Since Jusis is my spellcaster, it feels more significant because it's also Rufus' signature art[www.pixiv.net]. He summons an ancient Zemurian construct's hand from the beyond, which shoots out a laser of death!

I did enjoy that one in the first game too, seen it in action in TOCS2 a few times, its my goto right now for AOE until I find Cross Crusade :)

I like Altair Cannon, because when you combine a Lv. 5 Angel MQ with a Golden Bell anc a Cast 2/Diabolus, that greatly shortens the time to cast Space arts. That means you can very quickly cast Fortuna twice to boost ATS by 50% and then cast Altair Cannon.

there isnt really much of a choice if you count all arts, the best are the last. My favorite is probably purgatorial flame, sadly in only fights that are somewhat challenging enemies are basically immune to all elemets, higher aswell. Still arts in CS2 got alot better in damage department, especially with things like hades.

That's a good one, especially if combined with the Aries Master Quartz. That one regenerates EP as a function of arts damage. Combine that with a good caster and a wide area 4S Art like Claiomh Solarion, and you can actually get more EP back from casting the spell than you spent casting it. This provides your primary caster with effectively infinite EP. This allows you to just blast through the minor fights without having to ration arts, and reduces the need to use restoratives in the longer fights.

and combine that with chrono bursts and overdrives and get another broken mechanic, though chrono burst is pretty broken anyway.
