Quick Caliber is probably also a good choice if you plan on making Alisa into a ridiculously fast caster (highest base speed of all casters) and exploit Angel Level 5 + Space Bell (super-fast casting of Fortuna for +50% ATS)
Quick Caliber is very good for speedy casters (like the aforementioned Alisa example), but in terms of overall power Black Virtue is significantly stronger in my opinion.
How does that also work in a second playthrough if I carry my link levels over and want to go for quick caliber instead but my link xp is still higher with the character who gives black virtue?
You might want to take the Quick Caliber guy as your go-to adult on a second excursion and and lake sure to stay linked with them, and that should help a lot. If nothing else you could always grind link XP in Ymir.
OR, depending on how much preparation you want to do, you could grind that link XP in the Epilogue dungeon before beating the final boss and carry over your new, higher link level..
