Torn between Quick Caliber or Black Virtue accessories (Are delay builds worth using?)
Both accessories sound like they have great uses, so I'm not sure if I want to go for the faster casts with Quick Caliber or the +delay and 90% chance to impede with Black Virtue.

Exactly how useful is a delay build on Rean in the second game if I went full speed/delay and how commonly will I be able to lock down the bosses in this game while spamming moves like Arc Slash to ensure they don't get a turn? If it's unlikely, I think I'd rather go for the faster casts so I'd like to hear from the veterans on this.

I think delay is probably not as good against bosses, but still pretty good overall. I can't say for sure since I didn't have much interest in delay-spam combat. I do remember one boss in Act 2 where delay is super-effective.

Quick Caliber is probably also a good choice if you plan on making Alisa into a ridiculously fast caster (highest base speed of all casters) and exploit Angel Level 5 + Space Bell (super-fast casting of Fortuna for +50% ATS)

Delay is absolutely broken. Delay stacking can invalidate every single boss in the game except for one (the only enemy in the game 100% immune to delay) with the proper build. It's a little bit RNG-dependent, but with a good setup you can reliably win a boss fight with the boss only getting a handful of turns in at all.

Quick Caliber is very good for speedy casters (like the aforementioned Alisa example), but in terms of overall power Black Virtue is significantly stronger in my opinion.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'l end up going with black virtue in that case but if anyone else has other opinions on either of the accessories I'd love to hear them.

I went for Quick caliber because delay is too broken for my taste, and having Emma casting 3 Phantom Phobias in a row was pretty cool

Can anyone also confirm the requirements to getting black virtue? From what I know, I need the highest link xp with the character who gives it to you.

How does that also work in a second playthrough if I carry my link levels over and want to go for quick caliber instead but my link xp is still higher with the character who gives black virtue?

yes, highest link xp should give you trinket.

You might want to take the Quick Caliber guy as your go-to adult on a second excursion and and lake sure to stay linked with them, and that should help a lot. If nothing else you could always grind link XP in Ymir.

OR, depending on how much preparation you want to do, you could grind that link XP in the Epilogue dungeon before beating the final boss and carry over your new, higher link level..
