Can someone kindly give me the rundown why XSeed fans are supposed to dislike NISA?
Can someone sum up why we dislike NISA so much? I mean, I'm a huge fan of XSEED, so I want to give them over any other group the business. But how did NISA fail where XSEED had succeeded so well?
Much appreciated if someone can give me the rundown. Thanks.

Could you word your trolling attempt to rile people up any more obvious? Keep it on nisas twitter and the Ys8 steam forums. Just delete the thread.
Only cold steels and legendary heroes here.

Well simple
They are trying to get close with Falcom but after seeing what they did with Y's 8 that is nothing but bad news for falcom fans.
There are people who don't appreciate it but Xseed does a fantastic job with the games they localize. They even add in stuff and make their version the best one. For example the steam versions of trails int he sky games are widly considered to be the best versions of these games like even better than their evolution versions (updated ps vita versions). They have turbo mode , added dialogue that wasn't in the original versions but meant to be and in SC's case they added 2 characters for the final dungeon.

Also another thing that should be noted is that Xseed made falcom games known in the west. They took a real big gamble with trails in the sky and even almost got bankrupt. They could have easily stopped getting the games over here but instead they worked hard and now the trails series has recognition in the west. They truly love these games unlike nisa who is trying to make a quick buck.

So in short basicaly you have 2 localization teams. One does their best , takes risks and doesn't cut corners. The other is trying to capatilize on something that is known , and cut corners so that they can make a quick buck.

NISA managed to get their hands on Ys VIII when XSEED wanted it and they failed miserably.

They set the release date for Ys VIII to september last year and didn't tell anyone of a delay before a few hours before it should have been released.

2nd release date was end of january this year and they failed again. At least this time they notified us a bit over a week before, but it's not helping them out. The PS4 version of Ys VIII had too many translation errors and bugs to count, before they sent out a patch (way too late imo)

Also dislike NISA because they try to get closer to falcom and I personally don't want them to handle any trails game, after they showed everyone how bad of a localization group they are.

I couldnt have summed it up better.
All that colleague above said.

1st delay and a total TL disaster? Okay, lots of game get delayed and at least their president apologize publicly for it.
2nd delay? Well, maybe they need more time because overestimation and such.
But 3rd delay? And they come clean that they actually don't know what to do with the pc port and just toss it to an outside source? You gotta ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane if you're not mad at this point.

No I disagree with that, from a fairly unbiased position as well.
Before Ys VIII it really was mostly XSEED fan(atics) simply hating NISA.

At this point you might argue that its justified, but that doesn't excuse all the years of hating ''because''. Ofcourse, this is just referring to the diehard haters, not to actual genuine fans.

As for why the hate, well that was a thing started between certain translators and those that agreed/disagreed with their stance on translating. (''localising'' vs ''more accurate'') Which then turned into XSEED vs NISA since with their styles matching those translators, it continued there.
(small wonder, considering that I know XSEED atleast has one of those translators affiliated to them)

For me personally I don't really care as long as I get the game, and voice (so I have to care less about the text or its translation quality). The only translators I've held in high regards are all fan translators anyway. Altho it wouldnt surprise me if they are affiliated with a localising company these days.

All the complaints are nice and all, but the way I see it either a translation is truly excellent (which happens almost never) or it only has to be ''easily readable'' which happens almost always.

ps: I'm reading Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei at some point in later volumes the text becomes truly a headache to read since they screw up grammar forms like 'past tense' etc. Honestly, it doesn't happen often that something is completely unreadable, even on the internet.

All that said, Ys VIII's problems certainly made a lot of people rightfully wary of NISA.

Just blatently not true. After just glancing at the link you provide, we can see far larger scrips exist on this very outdated webpage.

But ignoring that point, the rest of what you say could very well be how it is.

He did say "discounting visual novels", which are the only ones with longer scripts than ao no kiseki according to that page.

Yeah visual novels are an entirely different thing lol.

Not really. It's also because people had experience with NISA TLs before. One of the most infamous Examples is Ar Tonelico.
And now with the Ys8 debacle? Yeah, gl having good will with the fans

Nope. Nisa has a laundry list of crimes for their past works. Just because you didn't know them doesn't mean the fans who did not want Nisa anywhere near Falcom didn't as well.

Ahh wheel of time. Good series :). Too bad the author passed away and it had to be completed by someone else.

The problem is that their localizations are absolutely dire, full of complete character rewrites and some plain nonsensical translations. Not to mention the introduction of bugs they never fix.

Lets put it this way IF they get future Kiseki games we might get them faster, we may even have dual audio to placate idiots like me. But the only reason will be because they will pay more money. And i dont know about anyone else, but i will have lost all respect for Falcom if this occurs. Which is why i dont think it will happen, they surely must have more respect for there main license than that - especially after how poor they performed in YS with half the script and multiple delays.

The fact they left it till the day before release to delay YS and work further on it just highlights it all for me just how little they cared.
