just my two cents (add autopilot)
only played through the base game so far. wasn't much of a gameplay either. not many choices for the pc and didnt get the function of shops. didnt like camus' personality and wished that it was customizable, but well.
the story seemed to meander quite a bit for most of the playthrough, so that I sometimes skipped the dialogue. But the last task of my first night for cloudpunk was awesome and very well staged. The ending just made a really good and emotional closing for the plot.

hopefully they add an autopilot function in the future. it would fit into the worlds setting and let the player just sit back and enjoy the pretty and richly detailed cityscapes. really chill game!

Fair warning, you're really not going to like the expansion if this was an issue for you. I see your point on the base game, but it didn't bother me that much. CoG, on the other hand, made me constantly ask myself "why are we jumping around the story so much? what is the point of this subplot?".

thx for the reply. I am exactly afraid of what you described, which is why I haven't planned on buying the dlc sofar. The game is too niche imo to be even be called a "videogame", because it hasn't really engaged the player. If dialogue was the focus, then I'd suggest branching storylines for upcoming titles in the same vein, and maybe even add rpg-elements like i.e. Disco Elysium, which is also dialogue based.

To me, Cloudpunk in a nutshell, is a great display of how you mix "bladerunner"- style cyberpunk aethetic with an everyday-life plot of a delivery driver in a voxelized world, whereas the former beats out the letter by far.

Well one of my biggest pleasures playing the game was how smooth the driving was, specially on 1st person with free camera unlocked, it becomes a whole different thing from 3rd person. They did a really good job at that and adding auto pilot would just make the game objectively worse.

While I like to just look around and enjoy the atmosphere (it's still the main reason I keep coming back to this game), I don't need autopilot to do this. I can just park for a bit or even look around while driving.

Would like autopilot in something like Black Flag though! Something about walking around and even inside the ship while it's sailing appeals to me.

no, it wouldnt. it would be just an added feature. I liked the atmosphere and the architecture of nivalis but hated driving. You could turn it off anytime you want.

So you want a "feature" that makes the game play itself. At what point do you just turn the game off and go watch a movie instead?

Well, he just asks it as a toggle option feature. It's not hard. RDR2 has it. But to go with this, I would very much like to be able to add waypoints. It is a lot easier I I want to do a side quest and just select the location I want to go. And together with this, layers of the map. So you don't have to open the map every time you travel to new location. So, yeah. Autopilot toggle will work great with these additions.

chill out dude, to each their own. a toggle like that wouldnt make it worse and just like the other guy said, rdr2 has that too. Just think bout it for a sec: a game which only conists of plots and subplots made entirely of vo-dialogue, doesnt really need flight simulation as its core gameplay. why dont you ask ppl that play visual novels about not just buying a book.

My counter-proposal to this would be to add a but of gameplay. I don't understand why there aren't at least some timed quests, that alone would give your actions a little bit of urgency and meaning other than being on one giant fetch-quest.

There would be obviously much better ways get a bit of gameplay into this game, but I mentioned timed quests because that's something that's easy to implement and doesn't need substantial reworking of the game's systems.

While I respect your opinion, I hate timed activities from the bottom of my heart. Every game that had it, I hated it. This is a relaxing adventure game. I wouldn't even wished it had a time event. Not even close. Actually, there was one, where you need to get to a certain point because of some scanning situation, I hate it and of course I failed it. And there's also an achievement for it.
But, having an option to make your delivery timed, maybe would make everyone happy.

Yes, absolutely they could be optional. And I wasn't trying to present this as an ideal solution, just something that would add at least some gameplay with very little development effort. Of course that I would love stat systems, branching dialogue trees, racing, vehicular combat etc. etc., which would really make this awesome world justice, but that's just not realistic to expect from a small developer who is pretty much done with the game.
