Broken car, not enough money to repair

My car is smoking, it's super slow, and I can't afford to repair it. Do I need to start a new game? Or am I supposed to grind enough money in my super slow car so I can get it fixed? The car is so slow, it's probably faster to start a new game.

(FYI: I let my kid try driving, and I stepped our of the room for 2 minutes, and now...)

You'll make enough money to fix it in a single mission. Also, you could sell stuff if you have anything at all in your inventory.

grab some items from locations around and sell them to a merchant
(keep batteries, corpsec flyers, microchips, broken electronics and coolant fluid) Some of these can be used to repair broken lifts and, in the case of the corpsec flyer, get past barriers. Though this is not absolutely essential as there is a merchant for each item somewhere around the city

I have the same problem, HOVA completely damaged, no money to repair it and I can't land because a red message shows "parking sensors inoperable"
