Damn. In that sense, its unfortunate that you can't let your friend play the game.
I like the idea of not having accessible save slots, but I can see why you would want some for your situation.
There is an easy way to let friends play the game. Save games are linked to Windows users. So make a separate Windows user and you can play without problem. This is also the recommended solution for families.
I wouldn't really want to make a whole another account just for one game, whenever I have visitors.
After beating the game I now better understand this multiple save slots ideology. And reading your guys situations has made me believe that this game should have 2 to 3 saves slots that are not easily manipulatable; being able to control how & when to save or load should not be accessible just as in base game atm.
similiar to how games like diablo, poe and co. handle it: you create different "characters".
just call it "profile" and that's that...tbh. i'm kinda baffeled that you have to delete your save to create a clean slate game....it's 2020.
