Snow Crash
Does anybody know if this is an intentional reference to Snow Crash by Neil Stephenson?

(For those of you who haven't read Snow Crash- the main character, the Deliverator, works for the Mafia delivering pizza. In an insanely souped-up and heavily armed car- because if you deliver a pizza late, God himself cannot save you from Uncle Enzo).

Man, I remember trying to read that book and being unable to get into it. The super-badass, ex-cop pro-racer ace-hacker dual-katana-wielding protagonist felt like a tad too much for me, intentionally over the top or not.

@Chuck P for what it's worth, he just thinks he's badass; he loses (or would lose) pretty much every physical confrontation hard. (Also, I'm pretty confident he wasn't an ex-cop?)

I think he worked private security in one of the rich gated communities. Since each one was an independant nation with its own laws and constitutions private security was that world's equivalent of the police. Oh yeah, he got fired cause he was a loose cannon, so you can add that to the cliche parade.

I don't know, I sort of gave up 30 pages in, maybe there was an important twist later on I missed and I should pick it up again some day.

Yeah you definitely missed out. Some ver cool characters and a surprisingly deep story. Though I'm not sure what you expected when the main characters name is Hiro Protagonist.

I expected one of the greatest works of science fiction of all times going by the reviews...

I liked Snow Crash considerably more than I like Neuromancer. I highly recommend it. But hey not everyone likes the same thing.

Of course it is. This entire game is the most generic, stupid, low IQ, rip off garbage ever made. There's not a single fresh or interesting idea to be found. It's the lowest effort game I've ever seen. Literally the worst game ever made.

...wow, really mate? Snow Crash was an excellent work of literature, and I think it's a great idea for somebody to create a similar world. Stop using my response as a way to express your unrelated grievances against the game.
