But he's saying he can't get back, you can, just not over that path.
I don't disagree that it's an issue, but right now it's kind of a lose/lose situation. As it stands, people complaining because they didn't know they'd lose access to certain areas. Completely understandable, but out of our hands. Give players temporary access to them now, and they'll complain when they inevitably have them taken away again when it comes time to progress the story.
Losing the Skates will be temporary in the long run, and someday this will all be past us. I consider it a growing pain as the game progresses through development, but in time it will all be over.
This is on the forums so yes atm you cannot get your skates back
Edit: Iv found a solution. Coop with a friend who still has their skates and YOU yourself can skate with me! Try it out everyone. They can also bring you into the area you want to get to when partied up
In the meantime, if you need to get to those areas, just team up with another player who still has their skates.
Early access or not, this is as bad a design choice as the Tucma crash and the jailbreak. And we even recover the surfboard *after* the dojo match, so I don't get why we can't get the skates back in a similar fashion.
The game is in early access so the time you spend without skates is longer than it would be for a fresh player due to the time it takes for new content to be developed. This is not the experience a new player will have with a finished game, thus also isn't a valid complaint.
And yeah, those are bad design choices. Temtem isn't perfect and some of the things that make it questionable won't change, such as the skates only being given back to us at the end of the game. You can disagree as much as you want, but plenty of us (and this is even more true for the skates as it is for the clothing situation) agree that it doesn't make much sense to give us a cool traversal tool only to take it away for another 20-30h, if not more.
Not saying you should refrain from voicing your criticism. But if you get to say something is bad design because you don't like it, I also get to say you're whining because the thing you dislike is a minor temporary nuisance serving a mechanical purpose and your criticism isn't fair.
