Dead Frontier 2

Dead Frontier 2

Lots of bots
Is it just me, or is there a lot of players using bots? I report them when I see them, after recording their bots getting stuck in player hubs, but it seems to be an issue.

it's certainly possible i suppose, havnt ever seen anything that made me think "bot" though.
like what would they even do? it's not like loot spots are always in the same place so i don't really see what they would accomplish?
are you sure you're not just seeing players with a bit of desync? the servers aren't the greatest.
as i play with a friend fairly often i know for 100% fact that if say they walk around a couch and stop on the other side if the server is desynced a bit they will appear to just run in place against the couch. untill they move a bit more, or leave the area.
These are definitely bots that I am recording in player hubs. My last recording was of two bots stuck at the exit, trying to get out of the Haverbrook Hospital. There was a player standing at the door who went AFK after entering the hub, which caused both bots to get stuck at the door for over 7 minutes. Players will run around other AFK players who are standing inside the hubs until they receive the prompt to exit building, bots do not however. Thesee two bots attempted to run through the AFK player to get outside, they would also spin in a circle and repeat their actions, they would sputter in place, one bot even became stuck in place on the other one. I have seven minutes of these bots failing until a human took control to get them out the door.
so....what do they accomplish? does someone record the loot spots for them everyday?
why would they run in mmo mode instead of solo mode if they're programmed to hit th center of door where people afk instead of the side of it that you can virtuall always click?

Since the dawn of online gaming there have allways been 'Cheating Gamers/Bots' farm gold and valuble items and sell them for real life cash. :steamsalty:

At PVP Tournaments of many famous games big cash and big cheaters are involved.

There is also something called real life money laundry through games.

( I do not approve any of these ) :bhaal:

yeah i get that, but in most botting cases the loot/nodes/whatever are in the same spot for years, not changed daily. this complicated things.
and this game simply can't have a particularly profitable market for it, it's both fairly small, and the dev himself sells credits. meaning any botting needs to undercut that.

i'm not saying it's not possible, im just doubting it's prevalent.

i may very well be missing something, but it seems to me you've either got bots following motions to do run loot spots which would need redone every single day. or you've got such deep hooks into the game/server you can just let it go find the loot on its own (maybe even run PZs/bosses??) but if they were that good there's no way you can convince me they'd get stuck on doubledoors cause someone standing in the middle
There are no bots, just a bunch of players that either don't speak english or don't want to communicate. We'd get bandits, outpost guards, and roaming NPCs before bots, that's for sure.

Multiplayer desynch tends to have hiccups like this, especially when there are multiple players in the room.

bandits and roaming NPCs would be dope.
personally i'd pass on outpost guards though
play the game and leave the others alone, there are no bots in df2 you are reporting ppl and dont even know if the bot is a bot? how does that works for you? reporting ppl and possibly getting ppl banned because you think is a bot??? get a life man
Reporting suspicious characters that continuously follow the same pattern, does not automatically get them banned. Admin would check if they are cheating/botting or not. We know cheaters are indeed had been spotted and got banned.

Lets see what can be seen suspicious by fellow gamers.

Characters that keep running towards walls non stop, auto running for a very long period of time. Characters that continiously spam Commands at chat, hundreds of times, non stop for a very long time.

Multiboxer botters:

When you see a character saying 'Reloading' whenever it reload a gun or keeps saying other commands. Normal people dont do that continiously (Some players seem to use bots to collect items to gather for self automatically but also sell at marketplace. Not sure how far they went about programming Boss and Purple zone event bots ?)

Now more serious ones. Characters pass through obstacles and fire backwards, while facing towards wall. Characters getting no damage. Characters climbing on rocks and cars even street lights then levitate over the street. Characters spam npcs as droves while getting no damage from those npcs to earn non stop xp.

If you report these type of things and Admin believes it is not breaking any rule he will not ban them. If they do break the rules, they will get banned.
