Honestly you wont be getting as much exp using melee as other players that use any other ranged weapon type. Not that what others suggested isnt a good way to earn more but you should probably switch to using guns and killing bosses anyway.

With melee, I log in almost only during events and on weekends when there is an EXP boost. I log in to check for the next OUTPOST ATTACK, stack EXP boosts, pick up missions from the 3 outposts, and then do the missions.

As a Melee build, how do you deal with burning and diseased Zombies?

I'm asking because I'm struggling to find weapons which's Melee range is long enough to not get effected by the Aura? Do you have any tips that you're willing to give? If not, that's okay too.

Thanks in-Advance.

Its fairly difficult to pull off consistently but you can try hitting zombies from max melee range(this is the difficult part) and then as your swing animation is still going on you turn your character and camera the other way which will give you some space between you and the zombie you are fighting with. The more you practice it the better you will be with it

Yes that is right.
Outpost is good exp per time and cost for melee, if you can 1 shot most of them.
Hi there.

About Gaining XP faster and easier.

XP gear and Fast learner Skill. Good mobility related skills and fast aim and reload skills. Membership also adds a big bonus as well as the Outpost defense bonuses. Running quests as much as possible instead of grinding on Npcs.

***[In general; No matter what type of weapon: a) - Incoming damage, Experience Bonus, b) Jog/Sprint speed c) Health, Healing bonus amount and Resist/Immunity to Special attacks d) Attack speed/Body Damage + Aoe control ability e) Headshot damage f) Stun avoidance/recovery - Dodge and the ability to Stun the opponents...This may change drastically according to solo play or team play. Pve and Pvp ]***

Melee is Top fun but also a sort of hardcore challange; especially against specific type of bosses. However Melee and Kick are Stepchild of DF game. They are Not Useless but only worth it if you roleplay that way.

It is a toss about being a talented gamer and feeling the atmosphere and the challange of Dead frontier universe against feeling Overpowered, senslessly against sad Npcs.

The (More) Realistic Post Apoc Survivor vs The Chosen one with a Boomstick:

Sad part is game atmosphere and the thrill of the Deadfrontier universe is truly reached through Melee and survivalist skills and build. However Firearms are Grossly OP and make anything very easy if you dont bother with Iron man challange.

OP ness is handed to you with a silver plate and spoon if you chose the Firearms and ammo spam way, by the Dev himself. The game is built this way.

Cheap all arounder ranged combatant skills even without a focus is Marksman, Quickshot, Reload and then using Pistols.

At closer ranges shotgun/subm guns against swarm of zombies and Bosses a like.

Rifles rely heavily on headshots athough it is also epic fun to snipe Bosses from miles away at Open field , especially at Purple zones. However at closer ranges all other ranged weapons are much stronger or much cheaper and easier to spam at.

The tragic facts:

In a tragic way, The Melee Skill itself does not give any physical toughness, resiliance bonuses nor any mobility, swiftness, dodge bonuses. Which makes no sense and is pretty sad.

So sadly the skill itself makes melee weapons bit faster and harder hitting but in general doesnt serve better at any other area.

The Melee skill can not chop arms, legs and heads of the targets with a bigger chance. There is no grappling, lift, throw, break bones actions either. Less damage and at closer range with no additional bonuses. No frontal cleave. No mad gone berserk other than roleplaying as if...(Yes it is sad)

Circling around the npcs lets the player deal easier with them, by using melee. How ever it can also be done easy with firearms and alot safer. Skills that make your immune system and skin thicker and burst healing related skills saves hp bubble and resources.

Easiest way to achieve continous xp flow is through teaming up for zones and quests. However it is hard to find big groups of players at Main Instance as it used to be since there are alot of lobby gamers teaming up at different instances instead of forming big hunting teams at Main instance.

(Ps: All of the above explanation is focused at Pve and pure solo gaming experience. Silent/Fast stealth/Looter builds are effective on their own ways. Pvp is another story by itself)

***Stealth Melee build is decent at the end zone. Very easy xp gains at interiors combined with Quickreflexes focus build. Alas, only if someone has got the patience to take a couple of zombies but then to recover stealth by exiting and entering the instance. Sadly Stealth does not work at Purple Challenge zones for now. Once spotted the character can not get out of eyesight of the zombie. Such as re - hiding back a corner or a tree, a rock to refresh stealth mode aswell.***

Have fun.
