Dead Frontier 2

Stealth Build
Does anyone have a stealth build they feel is pretty good? I was motivated by a video I saw a while ago of someone with what they claim was a full stealth build literally walking past dozen of zombies and they never noticed him and at one point even walked around the boss room for a while before shooting the boss dead and still none of the zombies reacted to him.

I'm at lvl 29 of my stealth build lvl 4 stealth and I really dont see much different between that character and any of my non-stealth characters. Often I enter a room and the zombies are all facing the door and notice me regardless, or the moment I do a stealth streak, 1 or more zombie notices me and ruins the whole thing.

Anyone have a build they feel works?

I dont know about stealth builds but i know how the mechanics stealth is actually working in the game. Being stealthed is all about not being in the actual sightline of the zombies.
Meaning that if a zombie looks in your direction he probably regardless of your stealth factor will see you.

The good question here is rather how stealth is affecting your ability to sneak. I think it narrows down the view in which a zombie can see you and it buffs the sneak damage. Btw you also can enter rooms already stealthed. Another thing i recognized is that if you stay stealthed and if one zombie sees you and get alerted, this doesnt alert the other zombies. Meaning you can kill you threat and remain in stealth mode.

Stealth build is terrible vs bosses and mainly for looting, quests and non alerted zed oneshots. Well thats how i would play it. To make bosses viable you could go for high damage weopon. Clean room, then aggro boss and nuke him down. Sth. like that.

Good luck :)
I'm saving this thread for when someone answers with build specs. =]
I advice you leaning more on foot step sound radius to be more silent. Stealth speed is also valuable.

Additionally if you wish to go close combat heavy a buld such as Fast learner, Melee expert, Toughness, Medic, Thickskin, Immune system, Quick reflexes, Jog, Aim for the heart, Exterminator, Sneak, Hunter is a solid one.

With proper -inc damage gear (clothing and spare armor to swap and save cash at higher levels) gear with extra jog, extra -inc damage (as high as 75), extra attack speed, extra body damage, extra health and extra incoming healing amounts as much as extra stun resistance, dodge cooldown stat bonuses are all wellcome.

I advice faster melee weapons. You can go full tank on or circle around crowds of zombies and circle around bosses with said set.

-Melee attacks making the character move forwards is a gift-

If you get used to using the small wrist movements when fighting, the fast forward moving melee attack is actually a bonus. It adds alot at stealth attacks aswell with speed melee style. It helps you attack and parry and circle around zombies and bosses.

You can also swap certain skills for armorer, marksman and reload at will. Keeping Fast learner untill hitting prestige ten would be wiser.

For the pure stealth builds of old times there was ghost mode sneak build with sprint (and some very rare gear that was abused back in time by some bunch) and stealth which was called Snake build.

Pure stealth builds are still viable anyhow using stealth with gear bonus even without the actual skill also works. Combine it with said build above and you have face to face fighter with sneak ability.

Well,

We have twelve skill slots which is way more than enough for building combo builds for sure. It is about a matter of preferance.

Game has been developed towards Gunner-spammer [Especially Machineguns and Shotguns] build for the newbie players. (I wish it wasnt only that way). Mguns and shotguns do not even need the entire set of ranged skills, thanks to their base performance.

Rifle and Pistol require extra ranged skills to be more precise for sure. Sprint is more important for early rifle builds as much as high enough aim to allways hit at heads from a distrance. Anyother styles doesnt require sprint after level 15 gear and as a result of combination of various skills.

Melee tank is also a very strong and usefull build; even for end zone bossing with certain gaming experience. Chainsaw is still doable. (Spam gunner is still alot more careless to run). Melee can hit forwards and backwards and in circle at the same time with proper technic. There are various techincs many players dont know. It is simply out of practice and pretty easy. Tentacled and running and aura bosses can be outrun, circled, dodged but also can be hit backwards when moving forwards with melee. Even plain -inc dmg clothing is more than enough as armor as much as anti stun stats and keep moving on with tiny wrist movements.

Armors and Armorer skill isnt even needed except certain type of Hunt that end game boss at tiny room type quests. Purple zone bosses and swarms of zombies at lvl 50 zone can still be run solo at close combat with proper technic and gear without armor or without firearms. It is all about practice and getting used to it.

Hybrid close ranged and firearms builds are very easy to pull as said above. Lots of skill points and overpowered equipment is ready cooked and served by the developer.

Pure Stealth and Kick builds are viable and fun but slower. Both can be combined with anyother build. However there is no pure builds after level 15-25 where all set of skills for any type of build is allready complete and there is extra 35 extra skill points top of that. The point is any build [Any of those builds spoken above] can pull the kicker, hide and sneak character roles ; even by swapping gear towards those skills.

Many skills such as sprint turn out obsolete at higher levels such as jog over 50 as high as 75, moves too swift to outrun any boss or swarm of zombies at any level.

That is all I am saying.

Yeah my gear also has extra footstep noise radius and sneak speed, some kick cooldown and stun and some dodge cooldown even though the build is hybrid. There are times I hop between zombies sneak attacking them (sometimes more than three of them) in to fast continious attacks. I use melee and ranged the same time allmost at all Deadfrontier builds since the start.

(Olden gamers remember melee-rifle and melee-shotgun builds of ancient DF times)

Close combat skill could much better with a magic touch by Admin.

Imagine him combining melee, sneak, kick and dodge also added some extra speed and kick cooldown, anti stun mechanics to that new skill. Getting rid of those long animations that ruins the swing timer for melee, kick and dodge. (Instead of forcing very experience players to attemp animation cancelling)

A bit of extra reach, but for sure more speed to cope up with. Some ability to cut of heads(smash skulls and legs at close combat as vorpal effect, which would make it alot more interesting and sessy for newcomers. (Now shields would also be cool with short melee and pistols)

Now that would be a cool brawlerskill combo which could compete up to a point with machineguns and shotguns ast least.

For now close combat is mostly for silence (and some economy if te gear is built towards and combat is played carefully) even when properly built for full on speed gear top of a speed melee weapon. Much much easy to spam with speed guns and cut through swarms of undead as if butter for sure. Melee, stealth, kick are still for only the true fans (like me) which likes to roleplay silent or berserking post apoc survivalist guy, for sure. ;)
