1. when the screen clears of blurryness after looking away for a while you have a few seconds you can look at his head. This will let you headshot him. Some people get a rythm going where they look at his face, shoot, then look down in between shots. This can work but sometimes its awkward depending on angle. In any case you can attach his head then look away, and depending on how fast your weapon fires you can even get multiple hits in.
2. looking at the side of his head does not hurt you. If you kite him around something like a couch he can spend several seconds walking across your screen not looking at you where you are free to shoot him. This only works in certain situations and now that he can sprint it might not be worthwhile but in some room layouts you could make use of this in the past.
3. You can shoot his legs enough to destroy one and he will be crawling on the floor and you can easily shoot his head safely then. This is the most reliable way to kill him safely but it does use extra ammo
Generally speaking he is not a very threatening boss since he cant do much to you as long as you stay away from him. So just keep kiting him around and periodically shooting him in the head while clearing other zombies that enter the room. Like mothers this boss is very relaxed to fight just take your time and there is little pressure.
Otherwise, high sensitivity, 1-2 headshots, look away, repeat.
Whatever you do, look down at the floor not to its face if you are at close to mid range. Its gaze has view and distance limitations. When you avoid that, it is much easier to hunt it down.
One is circling very close to bosses. Set your camera manually to look down at the floor. Stay close and circle and keep hiting the boss. For this build you ll need a bit of practice , attack speed bonuses from gear and body damage aswell from gear.
Another one is hitting twice and then dodging and moving with wasd at the same time you hit spcae bar. Wait fr the dodge bar fill at least at %50 and then repeat two hits a row and then dodge. At the early stage you should hit once and dodge away. With gear and skill or only gear bonus since you ll be able to hit faster, ou will be able to hit twice before dodging. You should be looking down same as above.
With firearms you can look down staying away but keep squeezing the right mouse button to aim. Lift your view up and shot it once at the face and then quickly lookdown. Same as physical builds, as your attack speed increaes you ll be able to fire your gun twice before looking down.
Another method is when you have the big distance advantage draw your rifle, aim at the Finger's face and snipe it away. Never stay at its gaze distance.
Allways keep moving away and keep the distance if you aim to use firearms. Stay close and circle or lunge hit and doge away and keep looking down, if you ll go physical.
