Energy & Hydration ?

Hi i'm new to this game. Can anybody kindly explains to me how does energy and hydration functions and what happens when they are at low level or hit zero ?

Based on DF you slowly die.

welp, theyre used up over time and when you travel to other zones.
when either reach 0 each one has their own debuff that'd reduce your damage output, move speed or attack speed and make you lose your health slowly. ofcourse, simply bringing them to 1 would remove the debuff
