Possible hack/cheat in game?

I have been playing since day 1 of launch,(can check my playtime if you don't believe me), and I have seen at least a hundred other players, playing the game. Today, I saw a player who was hitting zeds with a melee weapon from distance. I started to follow this player, and they did everything in their power to get away from me. I watched as they went through doors without opening them, There was no door opening sound as is the case. I tried to follow them as best as I could, and then they were in the street, and doing the same thing. Hitting the crows and zeds from at least 20-30 yards from their actual position. I believe they had a speed hack, or something else. Several days ago, another player posted in these forums about seeing the same thing. I know people will say it's lag, but if that's the case, then why were the other players who I could see in the same room not moving/acting like this? Any info or insight is welcomed. To add to this, once this player saw I was following/watching them, they left the building, went to the street, and got in their vehicle to leave!

Probably syncing issues on their end, not yours. Which would be why other people weren't doing the same thing.
