Is Samsara Room tied into the plot? Having played through it I don't remember any real ties and even the devs don't seem to consider it part of the series seeing as their list of rusty lake games doesn't even include it.

It just seems like more a spiritual forerunner where they were using the same ideas but there's no real actual connection between it and the later games.
