Hasty Generalization argumentative fallacy.
X is true for A.
Therefore, X is true for B, C, D, E, etc.
I do not own the movie I just watched in the theater, therefore I do not own anything.
You just said that if I go to a theater to see a movie, I don't get to keep it, therefore I own nothing. It sounds absurd, I know, but that is the argument you made.
Yes if the Space Invaders servers are shut off, the game will no longer function and be rendered useless.
It's true, I do like Elite Dangerous. And at some point the servers will go offline and that will be unfortunate. I assumed that risk when I decided to purchase the game. You are comparing an MMO to an arcade game. An MMO needs to be online, an arcade game does not. I have Space Invaders Extreme on my PSP and no internet connection is required to play it.
How often my computer is online has no relevance to the subject. I guess you are suggesting that because my computer is always connected that means it will always be connected... And perhaps that the Taito servers will also always be connected until the end of time? I'm sure I could dig up an appropriate catchphrase for that kind of logic.
As this post explains the previous one, I beg the mods not to delete it)---
Fallacy from catchphrase, i.e. applied randomly to make it appear that one is the master of the subject.
By the way, he fell into his own fallacy:
X is true for Space Invaders Extreme (according to him), so it's true for B, C, D, E, etc.
This is called: Self-Filing from Shooting Fallacies
hahahaha
Obviously X is not true For S.I.Extreme (but he is convinced of it)
In fact, that's what I said:
you don't own the film from the cinema and instead of buying the ticket you ask to take it home. How would you like to do for Space Invaders Extreme for which you reported the famous sentence: "In the future, you will own nothing and you will be happy." (clear example of Hasty Generalization argumentative fallacy).
Compliments!!!
Looking forward to your next catchphrase!!!
P.s. I recommend: keep your 7.80 euros close because in ten years the servers could close and you WILL OWN NOTHING!!! (ops... Hasty Generalization argumentative fallacy...hahaha...)
P.p.s. I saw that your favorite game is ELITE DANGEROUS (massive multiplayer ONLINE game) and come here to be a philosopher about OFFLINE games with Space Invaders Extreme??? but this is a case of... Improvised Philosopher's Fallacy!!!! hahaha...
The one who mentions the World Economic Forum is actually ALWAYS ONLINE!!! OTHER than offline...!!!!
(people who play Elite Dangerous a lot come here to philosophize about offline games...that's really enough)
you took the risk, but you forgot to mention the World Economic Forum.
Really painful the distinction you make between arcade games and massive RPGs that ARE PERMITTED to always be online!!! You forgot the Forum!!! you left with high principles!!! When the game is online rpg do you abandon your high (actually useless) principles?
I'm suggesting that you play Elite Dangerous without worrying about what the World Economic Forum says, while with Space Invaders Extreme suddenly becomes important to you…
ah, already because it's an arcade!!! hahaha...
Maybe I am slow. Explain to me how I just made the argument that if I do not own Space Invaders Extreme, I own nothing.
MMO... Massively MULTIPLAYER Online game. That is an important distinction between Elite Dangerous and Space Invaders Extreme. SIE is not an MMO. It does not need to have a constant internet connection other than the parent company requiring it.
I am concerned about what the World Economic Forum says... They have nefarious designs for humanity. I do not see what playing Elite Dangerous has to do with the WEF. And Space Invaders the original arcade game and Space Invaders Extreme are not the same game. I suspect you are just d|cking with me by making such loose connections in an attempt to make some kind of argument.
Here's what you were looking for:
The rest of your answers I don't even comment because by now you have descended from your high principles and you are (by now) only making a distinction between online rpg and arcade
Yes I brought up the WEF marketing line because you made the argument that "It's the current year." If everyone makes that same argument, then the WEF's vision of the future will be very easy to achieve. I'm assuming you would be against the WEF's plan for humanity.
You are trying to trivialize the difference between an MMO and an arcade style game as if it is such a minor quibble of a detail that it should not even be part of an argument. I like Elite Dangerous and therefore I am a hypocrite because I feel I should perpetually own an arcade game if I purchase it.
But an old arcade game? Really?
6 years? That’s an insane amount of time to still be stressing about one damn game lmao.
Still? lol.
Uh, good luck with that.
