It's true, I do like Elite Dangerous. And at some point the servers will go offline and that will be unfortunate. I assumed that risk when I decided to purchase the game. You are comparing an MMO to an arcade game. An MMO needs to be online, an arcade game does not. I have Space Invaders Extreme on my PSP and no internet connection is required to play it.

MMO... Massively MULTIPLAYER Online game. That is an important distinction between Elite Dangerous and Space Invaders Extreme. SIE is not an MMO. It does not need to have a constant internet connection other than the parent company requiring it.
