steam overlay not present in game?

I was wondering if steam overlay is present in the game as I never see when i earn achivements! if anyone knows a fix please let me know! thanks

It was there for me.
Check your steam settings>Game>Enable Overlay.
Then check your individual game settings and make sure it's not disabled there either.

how do I check if its turned off in the game itself? its fustrating because I don't know what achivements ive been earnign without turning off the game.

Actually they are both turned on so I have no idea what I should do! I get no notfications that I took a picture or eaned an achivement!!!!!

Sounds like you found it, but you can access individual settings by right clicking a game in your library and selecting properties, it's in one of the tabs there.

Maybe it's just not visible?
Try pressing the screencap key in game, you can check which one it is in the steam settings, and see if you either here the confirmation noise, or if once you exit, it shows up in your library.

You can try also running steam and/or the game as admin?
I'm not familiar with anything causing the steam overlay not to work or how to fix it...

So sad. I wanted to play it while collecting achievements. I can still do it while checking them on my Steam phone app, but not having the achievement pop up on screen while playing make the experience less fun...

EDIT: I found a possible fix. Just go to the game's folder (Programs\steamapps\common\Mega Man X Legacy Collection), right click RXC1, properties, compatibility, mark Run program as administrator.
For some reason now the game shows the normal Steam overlay instead of the Big picture one, but at least it works. I'll try to get some achievement and see if it pops up as well.
