X3 has the worst final boss I've ever faced in my life, and LORDY do I need some help getting past it, please.

I should note that not only am I playing the Switch version for clarification, but I've managed the first phase fine and have improved with the 2nd phase, but the phase where I gotta escape the lava in a vertical path while Sigma's gridwire head smacks me off the wall that results in instant death no matter how much I try to jump out of it mashing the Heck out of the jump button? THAT is stressing me the Heck out. In fact, I've been so focused on trying to beat this final part of the game that I forgot about my show being on tonight(thankfully, it gets archived on a streaming service not long after, but still), and while it started 40 minutes ago, I'd say I've been at this for at least an hour now.

So, I must ask so I don't get any more stressed out(I'm gonna be taking a break from it, mind you). What tips, if any, do you guys have to try and get past the lava phase of the final boss of X-FREAKING-3?

You just jump and cling to the wall, keep going up. When you see Sigma's head start to move, then air dash to the other wall. You're almost done, it's just a small section to the end of the game. Gold armor or that defense chip should help, Even the regular X armor helps.

For the lava part, if you have enough health left, you can just stay away from the walls and tank lava damage all the way up, with defense chip or gold armor at least. Lava only does 1 hp damage per tick, what is getting you insta-killed is being crushed between wall narrowing sections and lava floor.

Yeah, I tried that. I ended up finding out I'm supposed to be jumping while in the lava thanks to the Foot Upgrade or whatever Chip helped with that cause I ended up dying anyway.
