X Collection 1:
X1 and 2 are good, X3 is okay, and X4 is fantastic.
X Collection 2:
X5 is okay, X6 is annoying at times but not outright awful, X7 isn't really a bad game imo but it's a horrible MMX game and is very slow paced and tedious, and X8 is pretty fun with some cool unlockables.
Overall, I highly recommend this first collection over the second, but I do enjoy X8 enough to recommend the second collection as well just for that game.
That aside, I also really enjoy the Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, Mega Man 11, and the Zero/ZX Collection. The first MMLC is also pretty good, but I only really recommend that if the rest of the series appeals to you. Here's to hoping that Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X come to Steam eventually too.
