Which Order for X4 (X Specifically) Cuts down on Backtracking the most, entirely if possible?
So I just started X4 (& am doing X before Zero), & am trying to look up maverick routes to try to find the one with the least backtracking & potentially cut out all backtracking entirely, but so far I've gotten 2 routes that have only 1 instance of backtracking, but at different locations. 1 is just the weakness order starting with Web Spider, & the other is largely the same route but doing slash beast after storm owl. Is there any route that allows me to just cut out all backtracking entirely (with X anyway, I know Zero has one)? If not, then of all the routes that have only 1 instance of backtracking needed, which one has the upgrade you need to backtrack for earliest in the stage?

I usually start with Frost Walrus and then continue down the weakness chain. X4 is one of the easiest to 100% since none of the levels drag

For X: Web Spider, Split Mushroom, Cyber Peacock, Storm Owl, Slash Beast, Magma Dragoon, Frost Walrus, Jet Stingray.

If my memory serves correctly, with that route the only backtracking you'll need to do is for the heart tank in Web Spider's stage.

With Zero it's actually possible to get through the entire game without backtracking at all.

Zero: Magma Dragoon(dash jump off the ledge to get the heart tank, takes some practice), Web Spider, Split Mushroom(either jump on the falling platform, or dash jump off the wall underneath the heart tank to get up there. This can be tricky), Cyber Peacock, Storm Owl, Frost Walrus, Jet Stingray, Slash Beast.

Funny enough, I actually finished X4 & am getting started with X5 & It's "Minimal Backtracking" Run, but am having trouble with figuring out the best route both in regards with how the game works & what I'm trying to do. So I recently posted something yesterday asking about that in the LC2 discussions, & here I saw the notification assuming it was about that...only for it to be this. LUL

Unfortunately I can't help with X5. Haven't really played that game to completion since 2001.

Every time I try all the unskippable dialogue kills it for me.
