D-Pad on PS4 controller.
Is it possible to switch to the D-pad for movement. My game X1 defaults to the left analog stick and I have not found a way to change it.

I'll give that a try thanks.

you don't need ds4windows for anything on steam, and I don't know why anyone would recommend that in 2019... ds4windows hasn't been needed in years

if dinput is causing issues for you, enable "ps4 configuration support" under controller settings... I use the dpad in x1 without issues

When I use Steam for that, my games run at Big Picture mode. So yes, I still need DS4Windows to play the way I want to.

then you didn't set it up right, because you don't need to run them in BPM

so no, you don't

I did not know you were here in my house making the settings for me, and making sure the games would not go into Big Picture mode to make that statement. Good for you if it's working the way you like it.

why do I need to be in your house to know there's a check box in steam settings to prevent the thing you're complaining about?

Oh, you are right. There is that option in Settings, In-Game, called "Use Big Picture Overlay when using a Steam Input enabled controller from Desktop". Uncheking that option does the trick. Strange that I do not remember that. Sorry for doubting you. :tanuki:

it's easy to miss since it isn't under the controller tab, steam really needs to do a pass on the settings menu to clean things up

DS4Windows is way better than steam for some things. The only thing steam does better but isnt very usable is having like 2x 4 button pads on the touchpad

Was having this issue and found that enabling Steam input overrides the poor default controller mapping which should allow D-pad use along with making X = Yes/Go and O = No/Back as God intended.

Right click on the game in your Steam library --> Properties --> Click on Controller --> Click the drop down menu and Enable Steam Input.

What Roshambo said. Enable Steam input fixed it for me.
