Well you buy several gallons ton of gas with 10 bux, yep thanks for the useless answer tho.
i hope in the time it took to respond you found a way to make a quick 10 bucks so you won't be pressed on whether you could spend it on this game or not
The game is a lot of fun. Don't expect it to win awards for the story but the gameplay itself is good.
I'm GenX, so, as much as I love a lot of classic rock, I'm also tired (still) of boomer nostalgia, having been raised on it.
Seems to me, if you're playing a SR game, story isn't the main thing you're looking for...
The story is precisely as terrible as everyone says which is horrific as it has several good ideas. The city wide LARP is surprisingly the least embarrassing part of it all.
The balancing is all over the place. You need chase difficulty set to max to have a car chase you won't accidentally shake without trying but then enemies are superglued to you. Combat difficulty needs almost constant adjusting depending on your power level but it is still better than Volitions average.
It is a fine game for the cheap and scratches the Saints Row itch. I like it better than anything Rockstar has done since RDR easily and I enjoy just hitting up the sandbox now and then as it has a lot of mechanical improvements you had to mod into SR3. But words cannot describe how atrocious and corporate trashed the story is.
SR2 fans wanted more SR2.
SR3 fans wanted more SR3.
SR4 fans wanted more SR4
GTA fans wanted it to be more like GTA.
This game failed mostly because it could just never win.
People who fall into any of the the above category's were always just gonna hate it for being something different and not what they personally wanted (even if it was a good game).
And when you combine all their whining voices.... Well the rest is history.
Point being, if you go into this game with an open mind, you'll likely enjoy it and have fun.
I really like how in this one, you have more than a half-dozen quests, and they don't just keep repeating themselves from the beginning.
This. So much this.
It pains me even more, that so many people celebrate the closing of a Studio. Like. Congrats. They made something you don;t like, but they don't in any shape or form deserve to potentially lose their JOBS over it. BUT, that is off topic, so lemme re-adjust.
The game Is its own little Gem. It isn't by any stretch of the imagination, perfect, but it has its own charms and is definitely enjoyable, especially with a friend.
It does have a lot of cringe moments, but honestly, what Saints Row game didn't have a ton of cringe in it? It's just a bit of a different brand this time.
Beautiful world, but it can feel just a touch empty at times, but definitely more than a lot of places to make use of the Camera.
Vehicle Upgrades, are very simple, but feel nice, a lot of different ways you can colorize them, can even unlock some "unique materials" to replace the base of them, and for your weapons as well.
You don;t have to buy multiple of the same articles of clothing, you buy them once and change their colors as much as you want.
Unlocking weapon abilities doesn't feel like a chore, and doesn't just feel like a money sink.
And I will finish my ramble off with.
Punch Pistols Best Weapon NA.
