After playing the first game "The Day We Found Earth" which I found to be quite enjoyable, I thought I'd give another title a try. However, Rocket of Whispers was a disappointment.

The story was really weak and it's pseudo religion was really bland and simplistic. Characters had almost no depth to them and their dialogue was very basic and repetitive. This was also a problem with The Day We Found Earth, but it made up for it with it's somewhat intriguing story and gameplay, which I cannot say the same for here.

Gameplay. Really frustrating and had weird keybindings. You have a very limited time each day to walk around, but it seems like you have an infinite amount of days? On days you spend in the base, you can accidentally go to sleep and skip the day, with no prompts for confirmation.

I'm currently half-way to completing the second rocket and have decided to drop it as it started feeling like a chore. I will be giving their more recent games a shot after this, but I cannot recommend Rocket of Whispers.

The gameplay is a drawn-out, low-quality, buggy mess. However, I do enjoy the simple, yet emotional stories and will continue to play the OPUS games.

The major problem with this game is that the two leads have absolutely zero chemistry. And since they're the only two people you experience the story through, the story sort of sucks. Their driving motivations align almost perfectly, but that doesn't stop them from arguing every night about the same topics. They never grow as characters, they never shift motivation or have talks that progress some sort of character dynamic, they just argue about how they have the same goal. The setting of a dead world which they're trying to memorialize could have been much more interesting if they interacted with it in more interesting ways. (finding the male lead's parents, the female lead talking about how much has changed since she went into cryosleep). The radio was a great idea but an underutilized mechanic as well.

The exploration is also extremely on rails and expects almost nothing of the player while being frustrating at times, but that could easily be forgiven if the main story was something decent.

most dialogues don't matter, the gameplay itself is just walking around and there's a few "events" which don't really affect

the gameplay (example, a wolf bites you, you just continue walking like usual and it doesn't affect the story at all)
the art, UI, and everything feels like it's an early access game, not a full one

and the characters don't grow until the last 30 minutes of the game

Gameplay was annoying in this one especially since the view from sky and snowy areas were very hard to navigate, So be prepared to get lost a lot and then using hint system. This kinda lowered the story enjoyment for me but knowing this was still improvement as second game they've made I would say it's alright. The story ending also was kinda so / so but music and tiny bits of lore carries a lot of thoughts even if there is not a lot of catchy dialogue between main characters.

Just know that there is huge difference between every OPUS game.
They are improving and learning a lot, this is most impressive.

interesting concept with boring execution, 80% of all dialogues are just pointless and repetitive. Relation between main characters is at least toxic.
audio/sounds are minimal without any voiceover, game is literally empty regarding this aspect.
opus was medioker at most. play it if you think you could enjoy very entry level walking sim/gathering game with a non-thrilling story. IT really had a great potential to create something good as concept is kinda fresh but didnt deliver. (chorus part was good though)

Repetitive, boring and too long for its sake.
Even the story is not compelling.

This Opus is a failure.

I really wanted to like this game, as I thought the first Opus title was pure magic.

Unfortunately, this one fell really short for me. I thought it was heartwarming, and unique at first, however, as the story continued, and every step I took in the game felt it counted against me due to the time restraints, I started to feel differently about halfway through.

I kept going through as I was genuinely curious about how this journey would end, and was honestly really upset at the "Climax" at the end of the whole story, I just had more questions than answers given. I don't want to give up any spoilers here, I just felt the story was leading to something far greater,and could have been guided in a different direction.
