is Sylvando gay or european?
Title.

Ive got nothing against him being a gay character but Im kind of curious what his background is. Its so shrouded in mystery, does it ever pay off?

It's heavily implied but I can't remember if it's ever officially laid out. I was never bothered by it, but I also didn't think I'd care much for him as a result (I figured he'd ONLY play the trope for the sake of it). Oh, was I wrong. Sylvando was one of the better characters in the game by the end (and NONE of the characters are really weak so it says something for Sylvando). But even if you don't care for that subject about him, as long as it doesn't totally ruin things for you, he'll provide many scenes with a lot of emotion. Perhaps welcome more because the hero is mute.

Also, as far as I know, much of the game is rooted in medieval European themes (though there's a lot of East Asian themes as well, mostly in setting but some side stories related to them, given the source).

do we ever find out who who really is? Or is he forever the mysterious go-go dancer of justice?

lol "gay or european" XD that's hilarious, as if they go hand in hand. And he's more like Spanish if you play the game far enough and meet more of his kin. But to my deduction, yes, he is indeed gay it seems. While the game never really comes out and says it, there is a point in the game where he is blatantly allowing a bunch of "curious" men follow him around in a parade and that literally love him and hate to see him go. It's pretty obvious I think. It didn't bother me too much until the game gave me the binary choice of "yes" or "no". And when I selected "NO" the game still forced me to become a follower of the gay parade which I didn't like at all. But I just changed my clothes on the spot and moved on; disregarding that whole event ever transpired and laughed it off later on after realizing Sylvando isn't a bad guy, he's just trying to lighten the mood.

I don't think it's ever directly mentioned, but it is heavily implied and he's extremely flamboyant. As far as being European, his story implies that he's Hispanic or Latino.

yeah... um. You completely failed to grasp what happened if you think that's how it went down. He left because he wanted to do what he loved, not what he was born into. His old man was proud of him.
