Stupid Gloomnivore
Does any one know how to beat this (blank) of a boss, my party is mc, rab, hendric and sylvano, iv been trying for about 2 hours and have had fun with the game, been breezing through most of it, some bosses did cause some trouble but not as much as this (blank), mc's lvl is 43 and rest are 39, iv read that most people have beeten him with lower lvl, this is the one thing i hate about most jrpg's and rpg's, your enjoying the game then you hit a wall and you spend hours trying to break throught it but nothing works, it pisses me off that game will have this, its not fun, if any one know how to beat him or any tips, please let me know, i really do enjoy this game and i dont want this to ruin the rest of it, because when i hit a wall like this it ruins the rest of the game for me

I'm not quite sure how to help you, tho. Exactly how are you having problems? Is it status ailments, is he dealing too much damage? With that level, you shouldn't be having a problem, except if you're under stuffed, so you need to give more details, here.

Use the fun-sized forge to either craft better gear or +3 the stuff you have if you haven't yet. Equip accessories for status resistances instead of stats. If it doesn't work you can always level up. Since you're using Sylvando, he gets Oomphle at level 39. Use this on Hendrik and the Main Character. It massively increases their damage.

i have the best equipment, its the breath attack, it deals about 90 damage to my team and debuffs my healing on rab so i cant heal fast enough

Oh, if that's the problem, that's actually simple. First, have Rab cast Insulate on himself, it protects against breath attack. If you have leeway, have him cast it on other team members as well. Even better, you might want to level him up: he gets Insulatle, the full group version, at 40.

Secondly: Get Sylvando's Hustle Dance. It's left to Dual wielding. Not only is it a full group heal, I'm pretty sure it goes off his charm, rather than magical mending. If you use it together with Rab's Mulitheal, you should be able to get around 200 HP to your whole group each turn.

If it's Hendrick or Hero's turn, and someone needs HP, don't use a healing spell, but an item, as the debuff won't affect them. If you have them, use Hendrick defense buffs, since Gloom's attack buff can be nasty. Apart from that, play safe, and you should end up on top.

I found this discussion while looking for a way to do the same thing, I'm playing on The Nintendo Switch, and this is the second major block I found. I will try it when I get the chance.
