Found a mini medal- but not appearing in inventory?

In Heliodor, found 1 or 2 mini medals- but can't seem to find in inventory ... am I missing something here?

It's not an item. It's just a number tracked in the background. There is an NPC in Port Valor you can visit who will give you rewards for every 10 medals you collect.

Ohh, thanks for the quick reply- I've spent a few minutes looking for it, the game could have informed. So, I'll have to keep count myself, or is it logged somewhere in the game menu?

Press Y, goto Misc., select Info and there's an infocard on the right which logs some basic info and it tells you how many mini medals you've acquired.
