You can only quit when the "Slime Time" is over with and then you keep all your tokens.
Like I said, It goes from normal to slime time and then back to normal but it doesn't make it clear you are out of slime time mode.
When you out of slime time mode I think it says something like up to 50 turns until slime time starts again.
So yea after the boss battles then you enter normal mode again.
I only played it once and then went to regular slot machines and hit the jackpot lol.
I'm gonna take a guess and say it's probably because you are winning every time.
Try and lose a few times and see if that knocks you out of the slime time and then you can quit with your wins.

Yeah, I was, but I was already at over 3.5 million tokens won, so I wasn't sure if I was going to lose most of that if I walked away as that really wasn't clearly signposted for me.
