Yeah most DQ players would probaly know that though from what i've seen in this game. It seems to be a bit of a running gag at certain points where Puff- puff turns out to be something else XD
In DQ Heroes I and II you had the other party members give you Puff-Puff, yet it was never what was originally depicted in the Dragonball manga. However, all were surprising in some way or form.
Well yeah, that's the running gag. Most of the time you go for the puff puff and instead get some kind of comedic replacement. This game, like Toriyama himself, loves puns. That was one of them.
