Yes, awful localization, in spanish too. Dont localize names wtf

The names are different due to localisation reasons i think. So it they fit the overall localisation of each country better. It's not like the english version didn't do it too. Eric is called Camus in the japanese version and Sylvando was called Sylvia. Only annyoing thing is that only english voices exist and you hear the "wrong" voices constantly for your countries verion.
There is nothing wrong with the german localisation so far in my eyes. And "Schmucke Stute" is a pretty great name :D

Because it's not german. It's a fantasy world... For all we care, Hotler is the Hitler in that world and he might be a she.

thats not the point through, they should have atleast keept the english name. Your childhood friend is called Sandra in text yet in voices you hear a totally different name (Gemma).

You sure it's pronounced as "Sandra" in DQ world? :) With a dash of welsh, cockney and american accent to boot... lol. Pooor Favmooorr

this is a bs argument and you know it yourself.
Best example is Tom Scheuer (German) and Vince Vanquish (English). The crowd in the stadium shout "Vince! Vince! Vince!" and all I see is "Tom! Tom! Tom!" O.o

Oh I thought this was just a general why change names complaint but yeah if it's changed that are mismatched in text and voice that's a problem.
A lot of care went into the German translation. So the names are also different to adapt to the well-written flow. The best way to play it is to turn off voice volume anyway, so I didn't even notice the differences. The English names aren't the original ones anyway.
i think germany has as well the only name changes in pokemon lul
