So did anyone bother to kill the bloody thing on the last level of the Battleground? Is there a good reward,or a good steal item? As it is you can just go around the thing and get the loot in the room.

If you're referring to the Crystalotl, the giant sand worm thing then yes I did kill it.

It drops a harmonicrystal which is needed for the quest Holiest of Harps in Haven's Above . The quest gives Serena a huge buff.

In all technicality, you only ever need to fight the thing once for the quest and then never fight it again.

And what you can steal from it? Because it has something, I ordered Erik to go for it, but I was spanked so hard I quit (level 57). How to gain levels?

The enemy is irrelevant. You spawn the metal slimes yourself.

It's much easier to spawn metal slimes through pep powers.

If you've already gotten everything to rebuild Cobblestone you can buy pep pops from the shop which gives your entire party pep.

Farm money, buy a few of those, and go crazy with haulellujah, electro light.

If it's hard to kill the slimes before they run away, use Dirge of Dundrasil with Hero and Rab to put the metal slimes to sleep.
