DQ has never and doubtfully will ever been voiced in japanese. The goofy accents and voice acting at a staple in the west, solely due to DQ 8 having them.

yea just set voice volume to 0, it makes it the same as the japanese version.
it will add different pitch beeps on talking, depending on the character

The Voice acting isn't bad though? I think the weebs just want it japanese because they can't understand it so they think it sounds better

It's the kind of people with the guts to listen to 100 hours of japanese high pitched voices.

I thought the English voices were excellent. By the time I reached a few sad scenes later in the story, I couldn't imagine not hearing the voices. The voice-work certainly helped me feel closer to the characters.

I like the voices...the only one I couldnt stand is Kai. His voice seems so out of place compared to everyone else

To be fair, subs are great when a game's dialogue is trash. Not this game tho.

I think the VA is good. It's very unrealistic to call it anything less.

Does OP even understand Japanese? Can you tell if the proper cadence, words, and inflections, emotions are being used? If not, how can you really be sure it's not bad itself? Seems very silly.

Also, how can a game be otaku? That's a trait ascribed to a person, not an object as far as I understand the word.

Some people are way too picky. If it was truly "beyond terrible" everyone would know and be saying so.

The mere fact that the majority isn't agreeing (like they are about the lackluster music) suggests as much.
