Make sure you don't rest while beating the normal mobs. The more you beat without resting, the better. Other than that... guess you`re just unlucky? I did all rare monster quests and the longers was 30 min of farming.
I 1 shot the packs. This is how many Bunnies I killed before finding the Rare: https://i.imgur.com/jc2g6me.jpg
Also, as an interesting note, they never dropped their Rare, only when I used Hallelujah (on rare) did I finally get the bunny tail.
I think finding a particular material, especially a rare one, from a rare enemy is worse.
Yeah you have the material list, a lot of good it does if you haven't obtained said item yet.
frankly enemy hunting (for monster book completion) and item hunting are going to be the WORST part of finishing the game 100% ... Quests aren't too bad, but the materials you need (much less the amount) for crafting every possible item ever? that's gonna be a nightmare...
Rare items from rare enemies is easy though. Just have Hallelujah ready.
Hell, you can even get double of them. Steal the Common item first and then use Itemkiller for the Rare.
you know, the kinda people who would max out every character in a dynasty warriors game.
the guys/girls that get every quest, every character maxed out, all ultimate weapons, that sorta completionist.
Seriously if you're a 103% completionist then big JRPG's are going to be a real beast...
None of the early enemies are missable and will be found in the trial isle. The vicious version is the same as the version you are fighting now and will both spawn rarified monsters.
The encounter rate is so low, I got from level 45 to 80 just by fighting Jerkules to encounter its rarified form in one of the final dungeon. Better off proceed with the story.
And coming from a guy who used to aim for that stuff, even I can say that's a pointless thing to check for.
