Question (Spoiler) after Gondolia
I just escaped Jasper in Gondolia.

My quest says I should go to Zwaardsrust, however, I decided to explore a bit and I am now in Puerto Valor.

I just talked to a random NPC in Puerto Valor which told me he saw the merchant I'm looking for, carrying the Rainbough, in this town.

Can I explore and take my time without being scarred of skipping anything important?

Go where the game takes you, its a masterpiece in terms of storyline anyhow , times i've decided to explore i wish i wouldnt because when the story continues you would have already seen the places which sucks
