Sylvando seemed like a better Erik to me, especially after he got the hustle dance heal skill, then again I never really bothered to look what Erik gets :p
Jade's Vacuum Smash (which is one of the ? in the fisticuffs area) is also really good against common grouped junk. :o
Generally speaking though, the best team is most likely Rab Veronica and Sylvando. Jade is really only good for single target and she's not bad pre-certain events. After around the mid-point of the main story, she's basically a wasted slot.
Boss fights, you'll probly want something like MC-Veronica-Serena or Rab-Jade or Erik. Veronica applies Oomphle and Sap, maybe puts up Magic Barrier. Serena applies Kabuff and Multiheal, maybe Acceleratle if you think evasion is going to help(it doesn't). Rab applies Blunt, Sap, Right as Rain, Multiheal, and maybe Decelerate if their evasion is a problem(it can be). Then you just set the melees to go to town, and maybe get Erik to deal 3000+ damage if he somehow gets poison or sleep to kick in(he rarely does)
Erik doesn't really shine until post-game, where he becomes a beast.
Jade with Polearm. Hero Dual wielding. Erik Daggers.
