Minimum level to beat gatekeeper boss?

My characters are around the 44-45 mark but this guy just destroys them I have done all the side quests that I can do. Best place to grind exp?

Is this the giant with the double-ended spearsword? Have you beat him yet? I think I was in the lower 50's when I got to that area, with all quests done but very little grinding. It was challenging, but I won on my first try.

I'm not sure about the best place to grind XP, but try the last place you've been to before the fight. That's usually a safe bet.

Yeah he is the guy you encounter when you go to the fortress of fear

Use buffs (like Kabuff, Oomphle) and debuffs (Sap, Blunt). All of the late/endgame bosses pretty much demand a little bit of strategy. You're roughly at the level you should be for that boss. Hustle Dance on Syl and Multiheal on Serena/Rab are your friends, too.
