The story is all "Yay veronica is not dead, isn't that awesome!" and I'm just here like "NO!", individually Serena and Veronica kinda suck, pretty big clash between gameplay/story.

You pretty much need someone with multi heal in your party, but Serena has almost no other uses, her hymn are way to limiting, buffing/debuffing agility isn't worth the trouble and defense buff can be done by Hendrik. Plus she lose access to double spell.Veronica has the good buff/debuff, but magic is too weak to justify getting her over someone else.

So you know... any way for the hero to do the brave thing and kill Veronica again, you know, for the good of the world. But seriously, do they get some sort of massive buff at some point in the near future or are they just dead weight at this point?

I always found both Veronica and Serena as pretty useless as party members, I usually had my party as: Hero, Hendrik, Sylvando, and Rab (with sometimes switching around with Erik and Jade). Unfortunately you can't get cool Serena back anymore, and they don't get some massive buff either, so yeah they're dead weight.

The different ways you can play this game really make it shine, lol. I found Serena and Veronica to be two of my most useful party members. I don't know if you just started post game, but as the post game goes on Veronica gets some seriously powerful skills (especially combined with channel anger). Aside from Divide shenanigans with Eric, Veronica was my best damage dealer especially since she gets the double spell echo effect that you complained about Serena losing. As for Serena, she just outclasses Rab as a healer in every regard and once she learned Omniheal she becomes invaluable since you can use the Luminary to attack instead of using his Omniheal spell. She can protect the party from status effects, can be automatically brought back to life if she dies with Grace of the Goddess, and the protection offered from her Hymns saved me in fights like the Malicious Serpent in Snifelheim for example.

I felt the same way... Serena was so OP at that point in the game. On top of that I don't even like Veronica so I didn't want her back. From that point on I used Veronica first turn only for Magic Burst and then bench her, lol.
