problem is, what do you release?
the ps1 version of dq 7 and the ps2 version of dq8?
or the 3ds version of them both?!
IX with online multiplayer.
I'm hoping that if they plan to make new Dragon Quests as well, they'll bring those to West too via PS4/5 or PC. =3
developers, in japan especially, see this is a cheap way to make money- good for them.
However, I think we wont get DQ7 or 8 sadly.
Instead just the android/ios version of dq1-6 HOWEVER...
DQ8 is out on android BUT its fps locked at 25. so yeah, they could release DQ8 and remove the fps lock and maybe fix some stuff on it... and yeah but dq 7?
I'm all for the ps1 port, doesnt have to be the nds3d one.
True, but I think so long as they have the source code they can still port it to any system. I imagine it's a bit more complex than that but I have read somewhere that the source code is vital for it.
One can hope. X3 After all, I remember when everyone said FF9 and FF10/FFX-2 wouldn't be able to come onto PC because they were PS exclusives, and lo and behold we now have FF9 (okay so it's the andriod one, not that it bothers me in the slightest =P) and FFX also came to Steam.
Just saying, it's not impossible. But I imagine SQ need to make sure that it's worth paying money to port something like DQ8 or DQ7 so we need to show a lot of support for it. ^^
Or at least that's how I imagine their mindset would work. XD
I don't mind better graphics -- obviously, since I played #11 for 100+ hours -- but if you use low-res graphics I expect a consistent style, not a train wreck.
Yes, I know, it's the Switch, but it's not like we're talking about something heavy like this FFXV or even this game- DQVIII should be nothing for that system and from what I understand about what runs on it, it wouldn't be a stretch to port from it.
If they all end up on here and they're not half-assed mobile ports, I'll not only buy them, but I'd probably go back and grab the Heroes games on here just to have all my Dragon Quest in one location.
God bringing DQIX back on the Switch and Steam would be amazing..
Don't be suprised if Builders 2 launches on PC, would make sense.
