How do you use the Tanking Skills?
I like the concept of Hendrik/Sylvando Tanking tree, but I'm not too sure how to use them in practice. Personally, I am leaning towards using Sylvando as the tank, since he's a lot more flexable (and his core skill hits like a truck) but Hendrik seems like he would do the job alot better (since he can pull in ALL aggro, not just for one character)

How do you using their respective tanking abilities? just spam them and keep him healed?

Not sure what you mean by "Tanking Skills" and "Tanking Tree". The only character who has anything resembling a defensive tree is Hendrik with his Shield tree.
Hendrik also has a sword (from his durstan set) that increases aggro while wielding it.

You might not be far enough into the game. In the post game you unlock new skill trees for Sylv and Hendrik that feature tanking style skills.

That could be. I got 70somthin hours into the game, but not pushing too hard past the part of the story where veronica is shown to have died (kinda sorta but not really) .

Personally never bothered because omniheal is OP but if I did a nice shield and a meteor bracer on Hendrik works wonders. All you need to do is use one skill and he sucks up most of not all damage. Late game you get plenty of HP healing equip to help too.

No idea either... I've never used the hero's parry skill with greatsword besides when I was alone.

I used my parry (blue skill) with hero. It has blocked a few attacks on bosses on "hard mode/draconia" so def not useless.

Omniheal is indeed OP but (unless they've dropped the cost since DQ8 - I don't have the spell yet) it's so expensive that you want to use other healing spells instead unless most of your party is in the red. Something I learned the hard way when I tried to fight Rhapthorne in DQ8 thinking 'oh I don't need to care about my health anymore, I'll just use the most powerful heal in the game every couple turns on the one character who can heal effectively but has absolutely no way to recover that mana back without mana recovery items that are hard to come by!' Needless to say my MC ran out of mana really fast lol.

This game is way different late game. I managed to use it every turn on the last super boss (it helps that more than one person has it) and pretty much breezed through.

Oh well if multiple people get it then by all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ means. Especially if that means Serena gets it (and gets to keep the MP regen skill that she just got in my playthrough) because hoo boy does that girl not care about mana. Then again I'm probably weird in that I have her dualing Wands for the extra MP drain on hit.

should probably put a spoiler warning up there

Does Hendrick have a pull aggro skill if not he is not tanking despite equipping with a shield.

I believe he gets Forbearance, which is even better, and someone mentioned equipment pieces that increase his aggro on top of that for those turns where you're probably buffing/reapplying Immense Defence/Sword Stance. Forbearance straight up causes him to take the hits everyone else would, even from area attacks. (which of course means he takes four shots from one area attack, which can hurt depending)

There's also a Pep Power that enables Hendrik to use a skill that makes him invulnerable for 2 turns. I mean it's only 2 turns but it can be useful at the right time when combined with Forbearance

Also, side note, when you're arranging your party, keep in mind the person in the leftmost slot is always more likely to be targeted by attacks than everyone else. It isn't a huge increase to the chance but it does mean that left side will be attacked far more often than right side will.
