The Ultimate Boss was a Chump (spoilers)
I was deciding if I really wanted to do all of the grind to get ultimate weapons and armor, so I just decided "Let's check how hard Calasmos is". Spent all my gold on Pep Pops (got 3) and put all my main guys in Pep Mode (Hero, Erik, Veronica, Sylvando/Hendric ).

Tune into combat, first round I buff and debuff, plus all of the other stuff, boss aoes the living dung out of me and I'm down to 20% hp on everyone, used Yggdragon's Blessing and used my first Pep Pop.

Next I swap out Sylvando to Hendric and keep hammering the boss. 8 rounds latter and the boss dies. Didn't even have to use my last Pep Pop.

Yggdragon's Blessing is too overpowered, it can't even be removed by the boss. That allows me to ignore the claws and just hammer him. Kinda disappointing and now I lost my will to farm the ultimate stuff, oh well. Was fun while it lasted.

There's a video of him being defeated in 3 rounds on hard without weakening him.

My highest attack was 700 on Hendric, I'm sure if everyone had 999 attack, using the strongest Pep Powers, you could kill it that quickly, but it would require grinding Seeds.

They also use pep powers to poison Calasmos and to give Erik two actions per turn, then finish the job with Divide and Victimiser.

This is why Erik is best boi and should be considered the REAL main character.

Btw, how do you give him two turns? >_>

Wild Side pep power does that.

Oh yeah, thanks! Then I’ll just use divide and critical claim to cheese the boss.

I’m honestly having difficulty with some of the trial bosses you do with Duncan or whatever that old knight is called.

My party is around level 70ish and I haven’t been farming seeds.

Should I just spend a few hours getting strength and defense seeds, or is there an easier way to beat the op ♥♥♥♥ bosses you get in the trials?

You could have Hendrik spam Forbearance and deck him up with loads of defense, buff and heal him.

The Unweenie was the real final boss. All the trials bosses were better than Calasmos.

I think that was kinda the point. “If you can overcome your inner demons, you can overcome any obstacle.”

This rings true for reality as well - if you can break out of your mental prison and take the first steps towards achieving your goals, chances are things will usually go pretty well. But you know how it goes - man makes plans, god laughs.

Critical Claim deals 50% damage, but ignores defense, it will usually never deal more damage than normal attacks.

Were you in draconian mode with super enemies though? Or normal difficulty?
