In Russia (as in other countries) there are fans of anime, which without any problems translate from Japanese. At the same time, not all jokes of the "South Park" are ridiculous and understandable for us (the same Barbara Streisand, which hardly many in Russia know and remember). If in English there is an analogue of Japanese and in Russian there is an analogue of English, then where does the problem of finding a Russian analogue from Japanese come from? Russians are so stupid and primitive that they can easily localize localized, but are unable to localize directly? Yet again.

What I really wonder is how they translate the local dialects of some places. Did they just do a 'rural' dialect, or wording shift - or did they imitate a specific national speech pattern, like they do with cockney/Irish/Welsh variations in the English.

The regional dialects have been a pretty big part of DQ towns for a while, makes me wonder how well that translates across cultures.

The other big aspect would be the puns. So. Many. Puns. Like several thousand mini-jokes in these games, in every aspect of the game. Do the previous Russian translations get most of that across?

DQ VIII has perfect localization. And this one of the best game on series.

Перевод отложен за неимением голосов. Это официальная отписка наших переводчиков любителей. К ним никаких притензий. У любителей свои заморочки. Где наши оффы. 1С хотя бы. Правительству не нужно. В топку такое правительство. Нечего тогда ток шоу устраивать о качестве игр "@
