Why is everyone so dumb?
Hendrik, Jasper, King C, and anyone else our silent hero encounters...

"DARKSPAWN!
"CHILD OF DARKNESS!"
"DARKSPAWN!
"CHILD OF DARKNESS!"
"DARKSPAWN!
"CHILD OF DARKNESS!"
"DARKSPAWN!
"CHILD OF DARKNESS!"
"DARKSPAWN!
"CHILD OF DARKNESS!"

I get that the hero is "silent", but the number of chances the companions have to say "He's not the darkspawn/child of darkness, he's the Luminary" are so frequent I lost count before even getting to the second major city. Why can NO ONE reply with something that simple?!

And if the counter is "But they believe the Luminary is the bad guy", that isn't acceptable since it's pointed out all over the place that the Luminary FIGHTS AGAINST the Darkness.

I'm enjoying the hell outta the game, but this amateur level of writing really is painful. Even Ni No Kuni 2's childish, naive dialogue didn't peeve me off (dumb as it was). And what makes it worse is that so much of the rest of the writing is so good. And I don't mean good by comparison, but just simply good or better. It's like they got some random fanfic writer to scribble out the main story's dialogue and hired actual professional writers for everything else.

Why is everyone in Erdrea so frikkin dumb when interacting with Heliodor's army?!

? Are you asking why people believe the word of one of the most respected kings in the world over the word of the guy said king is accusing of being evil?

Considering the lore in written history in this world states the opposite of what the king says.... yes, I am saying it's dumb to believe the king over established history. History that people like Hendrik and Jasper would be well versed in as members of royalty through knighthood.

Which brings us back to the original post.
I see you know nothing about real life history of the world. You should start by reading about the "saint" Inquisition.
