Rain is absolutely the best wingman. Unfortunately her route suffers from the usual "first route syndrome" where her screentime is taken a bit for the sake of worldbuilding. Thankfully DiveX has two sidestories that focused on her. One of them is the story about how Kou & Rain trained to be mercenaries and their fights before Kou & Rain finally returned to Suzushiro. I find it hard to believe how Kou still considers Rain as "we're just licking each other's wounds" seeing how much she cared for him there.
As for Chinatsu, I love strong militaristic girls, but more than that, she is the tragic character in the game. Seeing a cheerful tomboy gets broken into a cold killing machine and then helping her regain her smiles just hits the right spot with me. Yeah, she is a bit annoying in the earlier routes, especially in Nanoha's where she's completely antagonistic, but given what happened to her, I guess it's understandable. Seeing her make up with Nanoha in Makoto's route really warms my heart. Also, to be honest, I find almost all of the H-scenes in Baldr Sky meh, but Chinatsu's in Midspire nearly had me in tears. Unfortunately the last part of her route felt super rushed, and her promise with Kou? ...really?
Aki... to be honest, it's mostly just her bubbly personality and voice performance, but damn it is really great haha. Also, that clone twist/tease thing? That made me scream, "OH, ARE WE GOING THERE? WE'RE ACTUALLY GOING THERE?! Too bad they kind of backtracked on it. The topic of rights, laws, and moral ethics toward clones are very intriguing to me.
As for the others, they're not exactly bad either.
Nanoha is probably the least important heroine to the overall plot, as aside from the tiny aspect of her being Kou's reason for wanting to be a hero of justice, she might be able to be written off the story completely and not much changes. I don't hate her, but I do felt from the beginning that she would most likely be the heroine that I care the least. Thankfully her route ups the ante amazingly from Rain's route and kept me glued to the screen as to see what's going to happen next, a strong point of Baldr Sky as a whole.
Her best performance is whenever she gets dragged by other dorm members/friends off-screen. No, I mean, I always laughed whenever she's screaming as she gets dragged away.
Makoto is a nice character, but I find her lack of screentime in the routes before her and her being not on the same page with Kou for the first half of her route kinda makes her character suffers. I also find that she is perhaps the heroine with the least chemistry with Kou. I get why she would love Kou, but not the other way around. While Nanoha route's story makes me care for Nanoha more, I find Makoto's amazing route actually worked against her as the interesting twists and changes are happening to characters other than her.
Sora is interesting. Beside being a tsundere to Kou, she is actually written like a main character of a story, a somewhat idiotic hothead that will try their best to help everyone and it makes for an interesting parallel in the last route. Unfortunately I find she has the same problem as Makoto, which is the lack of screentime in other routes, and because of that, lack of chemistry with Kou. Sora in her route interacts with Kou even less than Makoto in her route, and I felt the last half of the last route felt a bit rushed. It's also not helping that I find the reason Kou & Sora started dating pre-Gray Christmas just felt really sudden. I think they should've expanded a bit more on the week after the feedback incident. I'm also not a big fan of a "fated lovers" story. Sora's a great character, but I just find the interactions with her in her route too lacking unless you count Sora & Kuu as a set. Also, Chinatsu's VA was great for portraying her cheerful past self and her cold present self, but Sora & Kuu's VA took it to another level.
As Dis said, Noi is surprisingly deep and her dialogues and performance are fun. At times I did think she kinda went too far and maybe too wacky, but thankfully she can be serious when the times calls for it.
Shizel, another strong militaristic girl, YAY! Probably the most explored and interesting character among the Fenrir group, and that's saying a thing because they're all amazing. She has a side story in DiveX that covers her funnier side, but it lacked a punchline/ending :(
Also now that u say that Makoto is also a clone of Yae (totaly oversaw that) makes me wonder about Sora again. Her past (as far i remember) is not really explained much. We know her father/parents were scientists and she was with Makoto early on even while she was in the vat. But what excatly happened to her is not explained well (or i rly oversaw a few things x.x).
What i found funny is that she is the girl Kou's Simulacra hugged when she was a child and that that was the reason they were destined to fall in love. Not a bad idea but makes me feel bad for Chinatsu during her school days.
Sora's parents aren't Ark scientists, it was a false memory she had after the shock from being hugged by Kou's simulacra when entering Ark's restricted zone with Makoto. IIRC, Makoto is implied to be the embryo Eiji brought back from the Fenrir's South American incident along with Sora.
After getting Sora's ending and getting a plug in for an extra scene in Sora's route, Sora mentioned that when Yae was first pregnant with Eiji's child and before anybody else noticed (including Yae & Eiji), Neunzehn took the cells off her and modified on it, probably implying that it become the basis for his next set of clones, if not Sora herself. Aki also mentioned in Sora's route that Makoto & Sora could be considered "genetically a family" to Kou, and even gives a player choice on whether the player would feel bothered about it or not.
Also, as far as I know none of the ''Sora'' appearances (like the one where she stands at the tree when Kou and what's-his-face are walking to the dorm) had a singularity present. I dont think those appearances are ever explained.
I might just have forgotten tho. Well. Either way ''its complicated''.
Also the part about the Sora's appearing at Kou's home, on the way to school etc. i thought that would be Singularity only because it seemed like Kou himself never did remember meeting her as child. And as u sad before she sound to "mature" as child which made me think that she was Agent like many others i guess. The problem is that we saw mostly parralel worlds and know that Agent did appear there to help prevent destruction while World 0 was already "dead".
So if Sora and Kou rly meet as children in W0 or not is not rly explained well i think.

It was never explained why she was able to go back that far which is way before the divergences. She probably also didn't actually manifest the physical world then, perhaps just a visual-auditory feedback from the brainchip like how Kuu was in Kou's head in Sora's route. Anyway, the question of "who meets/falls in love first between Kou and Sora" becomes an infinite loop, which is why I called them fated lovers. And again, not a big fan of that.
Also, Eiji best bro, fite me Mohawk. If I had to put Noi in there, I'd put her where I'd put Nanoha, because she's a pretty complex character, but I'm not a lolicon so her h scenes are a turn-off. Points to her, though, for that one H scene in Nanoha's route. You know the one. Shizel doesn't even rank.
Aki has an interesting personality, and Makoto is ok.
Lain and Nanoha are boring. And Chinatsu is a beech, as it was said already.
Yeah, I was hoping for more of her in the last route. She kind of gets stuck playing the princess to be rescued, and doesn't get to interact with anyone else. That's why I'm planning a fan game focused on bringing her into the main (route 1-5) plot.
Oh cool. What are ya gonna call it? I might just take it a look at it
