Apple Gel - 500... Life Bottle - 1000
Why these items are so expensive? why you have so little money all the time? why you ever rarely encounter these items in the game world? and why pay DLC have these items in abundance?

Orange Gel - Priceless.

The first life bottle I ever bought was in the 3rd area because of how many the game handed to me along the way. The first apple gel I bought was in the 5th area because I never need them, but I just felt like having a full stack for the sake of completion and I'm swimming in so much money that I didn't even notice the price. The only reason I didn't already have a full stack is because the AI was eating them like skittles, so I turned that off and didn't notice the difference.

Most of my money goes toward the CP gels, which I fill to full every time I see a vendor. Both the 3000 and 9000 gald versions. Every single time.

I don't know why anyone thinks money is hard to get in this game. Eat item drop meals when you sleep and keep your battle chain meter blue as much as possible then sell any excess materials, which you will have in an absurd abundance.

I play on Moderate.

Tone down the difficulty if you're having trouble surviving. The game gives you ample amount of items to clear Hard difficulty without DLC.

It can get to a point where money is hard to get if you don't care about fishing or about keeping the combo meter going (though often you will end up with decent sized combos regardless) Though admittedly once you get whatever the final upgrades are money becomes instantly less needed save for items which you can just farm some gold or platinum chunks to make bank.

I'm in the start of the 3rd area but so far the game has given you abundant free life bottles, and even more so orange gels (to the point I had to use one on the spot before picking up another due to max capacity at some points). The way they are doing it now I actually kind of like because it makes money feel like it has some tangible value where in virtually 98% of any other JRPG it does not because you either have too much of it or there isn't enough desirable stuff to spend it on that you truly want (aside from simply collecting).

If you are chewing through Life bottles odds are you aren't giving Shionne a chance to revive people and just aiming for that instant revival. In addition to this and if you are struggling with the CP to support this then you probably aren't camping/resting properly, either. I can securely say this as someone who is using only the Ore Rarity food and not foods that heal or recover CP, as I haven't needed them but did test and they work very well.

If you are still struggling then you probably need to lower the difficulty as was prior mentioned by others. After buying all armor/weapons I still have enough money left over it seems in each realm to stock up on consumables if I really needed.

You shouldn't need to use them outside of boss fights.

If you properly turned their usage off in AI behavior(outside of bossfights) then I don't think you should run out of them.

depending on your difficulty setting you will need them for some extra/side content,
especialy the more expensive stuff.
but tbh. later on you make more cash than you could ever spend; keep up the chain-bonus (or use happies) and look for mobs dropping high value parts.
forget fishing. it's not bad, but it can't hold a candle to grind-running specific areas (and you also earn SP, EP, and mastery)

Thanks

do some farming with item increase accessories and food. I farmed a bit in the third world and have been flush with gald ever since.

items are expensive because they where too cheap in other tales games. i think its balanced well you can always sell materials and dog tags from renan soldiers. or do quests you didnt already do. i think it healthy that in a game you are meant to be very stingy with your items and anxious about not having enough. thats what made me fell pretty good about finding orange gels, pinaple gels or even omega elixiers. i didnt end up using much in the final boss fight, but damn did it feel good to be prepared for anything.

but yeah as already said i think they for one of the first times, made the items as pricy as they should be so its not a complete cakewalk. i also love that battles dont just give money per se, because it didnt make any sense anyways. rather the materials they drop should net in money.

You can do the Arena missions once per 60 minutes, they give dog tags that you can sell for money.

At the beginning of the game. Only use life bottle if you're out of CP or Shionne is dead and you need it to revive her, other than that let Shionne revive your party member

It's balanced the way it is because they're selling straight up shop % discounts in their DLC. All that discount they sell combined in different packs would bring the price of the items back to roughly the same price as it was in older Tales games.

Money really isn't that hard to get. For the most part you should need to farm for money less than in most other Tales. People just don't seem to understand you need to sell stuff to get money. You're probably sitting on 10's of thousands of gald without even realizing it, especially once you get to the 3rd realm if not sooner. If you're near the end of the game you've probably got 100's of thousands. And that's assuming you don't farm anything ever.

Sell your excess materials. This isn't complicated. If you want to farm money, eat some eastern rice if you can, wear loot drop accessories, and keep your battle chain meter blue.

I'd choose to instead argue its because of the revamped battle system and the existance of CP. Its pointless if you have infinity consumables. In the older games you could spam heal much more readily so a billion gels didnt matter. Dlc concerns were probably secondary and an easy way to profit off lazy people.
