I thought about creating a new save, yeah, lol. Also, fast travel was locked for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time when you first reach the second half of the game (after the final lord battle or whatever). I couldn't fast travel again for over 5 hours or so because I had to clear all of that story content first to "unlock" it again, so that's kinda why I was a little worried.
Either way, I still have some fish to catch and owls to find, so at least I know I can fast travel when reaching Lenegis and whatnot, lol.
The game will also give you a very clear warning before the only true Point of No Return, so you're pretty much free to do stuff in whichever order you want.
As a special pro-tip:
In the very final dungeon, you will go a long time between unlocking the next Fast Travel location, and you might really want one to go back and craft better weapons from the mats that are dropping there.
So even though it takes quite a while, you will get two Fast Travel points before hitting the Point of No Return, which will both allow you to immedately port out and back again without having to backtrack a step.
